A sundowner set is about timing. It should not peak too early. The light, the venue and the crowd are already part of the music, so the DJ has to leave enough space for that feeling.
The best melodic house moments often come from restraint: a pad held a little longer, a percussion groove that slowly opens, a vocal that appears once and then disappears again.
